people around us say a lot about we do and wht we dont. if we do something, they ask us why we did it, if we dont do it, they would say why we dint do it. am confused now. should i even listen to those who i barely know??? dont think so!!! but again, we live in the same society, which makes us difficult to live in if we have differences. the question that bogs me is: who are these strangers around me who keeps on advicing??? God gave us a brain to think, to make our own decisions. Yet, we succumb to wht others say. why?
when we are capable enough to think what is right and what is wrong, doesn't this suffice to make our own decisions??? perhaps, their experiences might speak for them but do they even know about our situations ??? but, we do have some advantages with peers. they provide us the information about where we stand in the society.
Critique is the best way to make people realize something they might have missed seeing!!! well, so if we are looking for new frnds., lets try to critique each other for a healthy friendship!!! enjoy the competition but be wise before following their advice.

West Coast exploration !!!
Hie guys.., am back..this is mah 2nd entry in a loooooooong time…
My previous entry was a day trip to Lake Cheney & lake Afton with friends during
late spring. While this gives a detailed tour of CA with my sister during
Christmas and new year’s eve…., well., here goes then…
On 24th dec, 2008., I boarded my flight to Denver which was a connecting flight,
to my destination – San Jose, CA…..!!!
my first pit stop was Denver which happens to be an International airport
and a hub for United Airlines….. ( no.., am not marketing for the airlines…. ;) )
I had a lay over for nearly an hour but my boarding was scheduled 30 mins prior,
so as soon as I got down from the Denver flight, I had to rush towards the gate
for San Jose…. As this was an Intl. airport, I had to look a bit before reaching the
exact gate….
Once I reached there, I sat there waiting when I saw a desi gal waiting to be
boarded on the same flight as mine….!!! Wow…..!!!
the look on her face was as close to an angel’s face., with her innocent eyes...whew...
Well., as I still had some time to be called in for the boarding,
I started to read a novel and at the same time., searching for her in the crowd….:)
No..noo.., I wasn’t ogling at her., I was only looking…..!!! :D
Well., after a few mins., boarding started n I got in.. n though this leg of the journey
was close to 3 hrs., it seemed as if it was a day’z flight ...
while I was waiting for take-off., I dozed off for a few mins n later when I got up
I was already over the clouds!!! Gosh… what a view …it feels as if you are floating in d sky…
Finally, when I landed n picked up the baggage., I went out waiting for mah sister when again,
I saw the same desi girl waiting to be picked up…. Gosh… lightning can strike twice huh!!!
Well., after a few mins of waiting., I saw mah sister waving at me from a distance... yippiee….
and as it was dinner time., we wnt arnd the city to look for a place to eat but since it was Christmas eve, many were closed except a few fast food chains…
after a good mouthful, we reached her apt n crashed for the day as we had a long drive ahead of us the next day……
25th dec, 2008… ho ho ho… Merry Christmas everybody……..!!!
The day we drove to Las Vegas, CA ………………….:)
Whew… since it was mah first time to LV and as we were spending our Christmas time
in this place, which added more intensity and eagerness to be @ vegas...
It was arnd 600 miles and we spent arnd 9 hours. Though the journey took its toll, every mile was worth it….
The time came when the skies were bright as if someone had lit the sky with 1000 W bulbs...
we knew we had approached the city of lights…the city of Casinos…. the city of beautiful girls… Las Vegas !!!
We all know the saying: “whatever happens in Vegas., stays in Vegas”….
So after a brief rest and dinner., we came out to explore the hotel we were staying in - "Ex-Caliber"….
We had a casino beside the lounge but we stepped out to our neighboring hotels and casinos..
Though my sister n her frnds started to play.., I was reluctant to join in, but later I started with the slot machines and well., I lost !!!
But that dint discourage me.., as it was my first time and so for the rest of the night.,I watched others playing and got used to the rules..
By the time we crashed back in our room, it was 3 am.., ( I know its too early to get back to our room while being in Vegas but as we had a looong journey, we came back n dozed off……
26th dec, 2008….
Though we planned up big time to explore the city.., by the time we got out of our hotel it was 2 pm. But that dint falter us.., after our lunch., we tried to explore most part of the Vegas Strip…
We visited flamingo., Monte Carlo.., Treasure Island…, Caeser’s palace.., Bellagio… and many more…
But missed out seeing Luxor(where we had the Pyramid),
Sahara…, Mandalay bay…. But there’s always tomorrow !!!
We later came across a musical fountain @ Bellagio which was simply mesmerizing….
And after having our dinner., of course… its gambling time… !!!
By now., I had made myself proficient with the slot machines n at some time…
won $78 with just $1…. Amazing huh!!! But don’t get too excited bout this… as
we won some and lost a lot !!! well., I lost big time in other games which made me realize…enough for today.. but there’z always tomorrow...
And after a short walk around the castle., we headed back to our rooms hoping for a good night’s sleep and hopefully get up early…
27th dec 2008….
Well… well.. well…., the same routine., we planned to get up early but got up late n this time we left our room by 3 pm.. Gosh…. Nice ….. so., after our lunch…, we left for Hoover Dam…, arnd 30 miles from Las vegas… but it took us more than 90 mins to reach there bcz of the traffic, as a bridge was being constructed besides the dam….
After a short drive.., we reached there arnd 4:38 pm on Nevada side but of course 5:32 pm on Arizona side… huh??? Hz this possible ???
A walk on the dam takes 5 mins but what is this???
Dah….., well., change of time zone guys… from Pacific time zone to Mountain time zone..so., after my confusion got cleared and some snaps and souvenirs taken., we headed back to the Vegas strip… so today., we headed towards Sahara.., Bally’s…and Stratosphere….
Wow.., this is a wonder of Las vegas guys…its just a pillar like structure with an angled circumference and a hotel at the top of 107 floors… wait.., there’s more…
We have 3 most scariest., dangerous and insane rides at the top… u ride on one of them…you would feel like you had a thrill lasting for life….. gosh… on top of 107 floors.., free fall ..thats totally insane………….
Well., come to think of it., the ride’s name itself was called Insanity !!!
And well after visiting casinos., a few wins and loss here n there.., and visiting McDonald’s again…, we headed back to our room n whew………. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
28th dec 2008….
Soo.., today was the plan to visit Grand Canyon.., arnd 250 miles drive from Las Vegas..,but as usual., we got up late and by the time we left, it was noon… The drive to Canyon was through Hoover dam so we again had another tour of the dam en route to canyon..The amazing part, though expected, was we had snow fall over the canyon as it was winter time…A drive through the mountainous range was enthralling…. Unfortunately our camera’s battery died so we don’t have any snaps to upload but I can only say…. "Seeing isn't believing., believing is Seeing" ...
And today was the last night in Vegas., so after coming back., we headed towards the casinos for one finale time ( for the current tour though !!! ) and well.. WIN’s n LOSS’s….and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…………………
29th dec 2008…..
The day we said Good-bye to Las Vegas…
After checking out., we placed our bags in the car and headed back to one another place which we had kept it for the last… a tour through an Aquarium inside the Mandalay Bay hotel… wow…..
Whew.. using the latest technology in the marine field and saving nearly extinct aquatic animals…,it was just an amazing experience…. Later in the tour., we got to touch them @ some point…Cool… but be cautious…. "Do not touch their eyes n tails"….
( well that was the warning we were given )…
Though I am a fan of sea food., this was the first time I realized how precious they are and eeeww very slimy too….
So., after our brunch., we started our driving and drove towards Los Angeles !!!
30th dec 2008….
Well., after our tiring journey from Vegas to LA., we were all exhausted….
So as usual…., slept nicely n got up late…. I wasn’t feeling well so got up
around noon., freshened up and off we went to explore Los Angeles…
We were held up in Santa Monica.., so we hit the famous Santa Monica beach and later went on to explore the Hollywood St ( the world famous star-famed street ) along with Kodak Theatre ( the place where Oscars takes place... !!! )
We found many actors and actress foot prints, but the one I loved was the Emma Watson,Daniel Radcliffe, Rubert Grint… Harry Potter actors…. ( FYI, i'm a big fan of Harry Potter )
later, we crashed back in the room.
31st dec 2008….
The last day of the year…. Hmmmmm….
Well., you guys can only predict wht am gonna say now……
So., after getting up late…., we headed towards Universal Studios in LA…..
Wow…, its an amazing place to be, simply eye catching location…..
Felt like a paradise.., met many film actors… , Shrek., Donkey….., Princess Fiona…,
Grinch…, soldiers of Mummy… and many more….
Many thrills and rides suitable for all ages., Shrek in 4-D., Terminator in 3-D.,
Jurasic Park rides., Revenge of the Mummy…, Special Effects., Water world.., Backdraft…. Ufff....
If u ever visit LA., make sure u step into Universal Studios…. Thats the place to be in and I was fortunate to be on the last day of the year….
Coming back to our shows., Water world here, has been rated as the top show, which we
happened to visit twice., Shrek being 4-D.., gosh!!!! When the donkey sneeze., u feel the effects literally on ya face.., chairs moving.., walls designed to create echos…
Wait.., there's more......
If you guys just wanna explore the place, they have a Studio tour which is around an hour's time...
Though we weren't able to take the tour on our first day, we were fortunate to get a tour on our second day !!! They took us to the sets where Desperate Housewife., the film - The Big Fat Liar were shot, showed us the cars used in Tokyo Drift and many more...
Well, this is a place where you can visit any time of the year and on our tour, we saw that they were demolishing a ride to set up a new thrill... Can't wait to see wht that would be!!!
1st JANUARY 2009...
Happy New Year frnds……………….hope u guys have made some resolutions to the new year..
Well., I haven't.. :) For me., even though I try doing something, nothing works., so why bother making any huh!!! So lets try out differently this time… wht say!!!
Well., today., we planned to visit Sea World in San Diego., which was arnd 100 miles from LA. This time, we got up early and off we left for another adventure…
we reached around 11:30 and since we had bought a combo ticket from Universal Studio only., we entered w/o any further delay and made our way directly to the world famous Shamu, the black whale show. Wow!!!
Well., back to the show.., it was simply amazing., I’ll upload the video also which I took… ( copyrights protected :) ). And later we went to watch Dolphins show…, again., wow !!!
And a few other shows., aquarium and last but not the least, a roller coaster ride!!! With twice 45 deg inclined dips.., it was an amazing ride….
At the end of the day, we drove back to our place n zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…
2nd Jan, 2009….
Officially, this was our last day of our tour. So from here, we
drove towards my cousin’s place who stays in Ventura, an hour drive from LA. We hung out at his place, played around, ate home-made Biryani and had a gr8 sleep after a long time. :) Finally, got a chance to get up late.

my first camping ...
hie frnds.., this is my 1st post.., so i hope ya guys ll njoy reading this,
much as i enjoyed providing the dtails...
though i have been in USA for nearly 9 months but as my first post,
i'll start wid my latest outing wid frnds.. " lake cheney n lake afton "
i was reading a novel wen my frnd called n asked whether i was interested
in going out for a camping on a near by lake..
as it was summer time.,( july 4th, to be more specific, the US independence
day... ) i decided it wud be a nice brk-thru n i said yes...
we decided to leave by noon, made a stop @ the walmart, bought s'mores
and drinks n headed to the lake...
when we reached der, we had a tough time looking for a good spot..
after nearly an hour, we got a good one beside the lake... n started to set up
the tent....
we sure had a fun time setting it up....as it was our first time camping...
wen we were done, we headed to the lake for a swim...
after nearly an hour's time in water, we got back, freshened ourselves...
by now, all of us wer starving., so we set up the grill n wallah....
cooking time...
after a good bbq dinner, we headed to our tent, plyed cards n finally
sleeping time.... :)
was the last one 2 get up in d morning... :) had a quick wash n headed for a walk
arnd the lake wid guys... spend some time chatting
n it was time to head back to home...
but instead of heading to home, we headed to another lake ( lake afton )...
so back to shorts n back to water for a swim.... :)
spent some time n finally back to room... whew...
tiring but an adventurous day for all of us...
